Consent & Etiquette Policy
-
Consent Comes First
Consent is mandatory, ongoing, and can be withdrawn at any time. No guest is entitled to another person’s attention, body, conversation, time, energy, or participation. -
Respect Personal Boundaries
Guests must respect verbal and non-verbal boundaries. If someone says no, moves away, seems uncomfortable, or does not clearly engage, stop immediately. -
No Pressure
Pressure, coercion, harassment, intimidation, unwanted touching, persistent attention, or disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated. -
Privacy & Discretion
Guests must respect the privacy of others. Do not share names, photos, videos, attendance details, private conversations, or personal information without clear consent. -
Photography & Filming
Photography, filming, or livestreaming involving other guests is not allowed without clear permission. -
Dress & Presentation
Velvet Society encourages elegance, confidence, individuality, and self-expression. Guests are expected to dress in a way that reflects the atmosphere of the event. -
Alcohol & Behaviour
Guests must remain respectful and in control. Intoxicated, aggressive, unsafe, or disorderly behaviour may result in refused entry or removal.
Licensed premises in New Zealand cannot sell or supply alcohol to intoxicated people, and alcohol service must follow venue/legal requirements. -
Reporting Concerns
If you feel unsafe or see behaviour that concerns you, speak to a Velvet Society host, staff member, venue staff, or security immediately. -
Consequences
Breaching this policy may result in removal from the event, loss of membership, refusal of future entry, or permanent exclusion from Velvet Society.
